Joseph Roberson, M.D.

Dr. Joseph Roberson is an internationally renowned specialist in Otology, Neurotology, and Skull Base Surgery. He is Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Neurotology and he is a certified X-ray Supervisor and Operator. He is CEO, Managing Partner, and Director of the Fellowship Program at the California Ear Institute. Dr. Roberson is a member of the American Neurotology Society and the AAO-HNS. He serves as a consultant for several industry leaders including Cochlear Corporation, Advanced Bionics Corporation, Medtronics-Xomed, NeuroPace, and Acclarent. He is widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks and regularly presents to physicians, audiologists and the general public in many different venues and locations. As a faculty member and former Chief of Otology-Neurotology-Skull Base Surgery at Stanford University, he works out of the Palo Alto, San Ramon and Santa Rosa practices. Dr. Roberson is also the Medical Director of the Adult and Pediatric Cochlear Implant Program at California Ear Institute and Children's Hospital Oakland. As Founder of the Let Them Hear Foundation, Dr. Roberson is active internationally and serves as President of the Foundation.

Katrina Stidham, M.D.

Dr. Katrina R. Stidham is a partner in the California Ear Institute at San Ramon. She is a practicing surgical and medical otologist, treating patients in our San Ramon office for over six years.

Dr. Stidham received her medical education at Duke University School of Medicine, during which time she completed research under a distinguished Howard Hughes Fellowship. She completed her surgical internship and her residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University Hospital. Subsequently, Dr. Stidham completed her otology/neurotology/skull base fellowship at the California Ear Institute. In 2000, she received the national Neurotology Fellowship award for her research paper completed during this training.

Dr. Stidham is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery and is currently a member of the American Neurotology Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the Contra Costa Medical Association. She continues to support an active clinical practice as well as clinical based research in hearing related problems and has over 15 peer reviewed publications. Dr. Stidham presents frequently to colleagues and patients at local, national, and international forums.

Dr. Stidham's scope of practice includes care for patients with all otologic, neurotologic, skull base surgery and vestibular needs. She has special interests in congenital hearing loss, pediatric otology, cochlear implants, meniere's disease, otosclerosis and chronic infections. She is a surgical team member for Children's Hospital Oakland Cochlear Implant Program and participates in the ongoing development of the program as well as performing implant surgeries there regularly.
